Rooney the perfect England captain - Butcher

Former England defender Terry Butcher says Wayne Rooney was the perfect captain and leader for his country.

Rooney, who is England's all-time leading goalscorer, announced his retirement from international football on Wednesday.

"I feel he has probably made the right decision for himself, but I am disappointed because I would have loved to have seen him go to Russia and lead England in a fourth World Cup," Butcher said.
