Carver: Mike Ashley still wants to sell Newcastle

Former Newcastle manager John Carver talks about club owner Mike Ashley's plans for the future.

Carver managed under Ashley in 2014-15 and led them to safety on the last day of the Premier League season - and he believes the owner "fell out of love" with Newcastle during that period.

"I think when he first took it over it was a new toy for him but he fell out with the fans and the fans fell out with him," Carver said.

According to Carver, though, Ashley will only sell the club at the right price, adding: "He's still a business man so he's not going to take a hit - but if somebody comes in with the cash, he will step aside."
