Partition: Maryam's story
Seventy years ago, India got its independence from Britain - which had ruled it for 200 years. The huge population was divided up into Hindu-majority India and Muslim-majority Pakistan. It was one of the biggest migrations in human history. Also one of the bloodiest, claiming around a million lives from the Hindu, Muslim and Sikh communities. We hear from caller Maryam who tells us about her families experiences during this time.
