Nevin: Morata Chelsea's number one choice

Alvaro Morata was Chelsea's number one choice of striker to sign this summer, says former Blues winger Pat Nevin.

The 24-year-old Spaniard is set to move to Stamford Bridge for about £60m, subject to personal terms and a medical.

Nevin also said the signing would have the fans' backing.

"I wrote a piece on the Chelsea website about three months ago. I asked the fans – ‘who would you like most as a centre-forward?’ Number three was (Romelu) Lukaku, number two was (Alexis) Sanchez, and number one? You guessed it, Morata.”
