Northamptonshire County Council have decided to reduce the opening hours of the County Record office for free access to the archive service, and impose new charges.
Northamptonshire County Council have decided to reduce the opening hours of the County Record office for free access to the archive service from all day on three days a week and one Saturday a month, to mornings only. They say it is due to budget pressures. And they want to charge £31.50 an hour to use it outside these times. But 3,000 people have signed a petition against the changes.
