Giant Killers: Music that tells a story of life and death
What do documentary filmmakers do when they can't use sound or commentary to tell a story? Often, they turn to music. Composer William Goodchild explains the moral dilemmas he faced when composing music for a dramatic, emotional fight to the death.
The beautiful footage in this clip is from BBC Two's Return of the Giant Killers: Africa's Lion Kings (BBC/Icon FIlms, 2015). Composer William Goodchild spoke to Tom Service for an episode of Radio 3's Music Matters investigating the complex interplay between music and nature: listen now.
