Winter: Hart shouldn't be rushed off to scrapheap
The Times’ chief football writer Henry Winter says Joe Hart shouldn’t be “rushed off to the scrapheap” despite conceding two free-kicks against Scotland.
The England keeper was beaten twice in quick concession from similar positions by Leigh Griffiths as Scotland went from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 at Hampden.
“We know he’s got a vulnerability down to the left but I’ve seen him make superb saves against Slovenia to keep England in a game, so let’s not write him off completely,” added Winter.
Hart faces an uncertain future at club level, with his loan to Serie A side Torino now over and Pep Guardiola having signed Ederson Moraes for £35m from Benfica.
