US squashes climate hopes
The US is leaving the Paris accord - but the rift with Europe goes deeper than that.
President Trump surprised few when he announced that the US was pulling out of the Paris accord on climate change. It may not make much practical difference - but it's deepened his rift with Europe, and has opened the way for China to take a bigger role on the world stage.
