Rio Ferdinand ‘devastated’ by Manchester Arena attack
Former Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand says he is “devastated” by the attack on the Manchester Arena which left 22 people dead, some of them children.
“I'm obviously devastated. That's somewhere I made home for 12 years, near 13 years,” he told BBC Radio 5 live’s Emma Barnett. “My kids were born there and made many great friends. They’re still in contact with friends there.”
Ferdinand added that he was “not overly surprised” by the attacks. “Our kids are growing up in a world where violence and atrocities like this is becoming more regular.”
