On Tour in Venice
We explore how important Venice's cultural contribution is to Italy today
This week’s Arts Hour on Tour is in Venice Italy. The city is buzzing for the 2017 Art Biennale and we're exploring how important Venice's cultural contribution is to Italy today.
Artist Salvatore Arancio shows Nikki around his work in the Time and Infinity pavilion. Documentary filmmaker Enrico Michieletto whose documentary Veniceland hints at the city’s Disneyfication takes us on a cultural trip around the canals. With comedy from Italian stand up Francesco De Carlo and we also hear from local art gallery curator Aurora Fonda, and Chiara Becattini from Il Caicio who preserve Venice’s boat culture.
Plus, performances from star soprano Giulia Semenzato and Italian superstar singer Elisa.
