Brazil Authorities Release 'Bribery' Tape

The material is said to implicate embattled President Temer

The Brazilian authorities have released an audio tape recording of a conversation between President Michel Temer and a businessman which investigators say proves the president colluded in bribery. But in a short television statement, President Temer said he would not stand down and had nothing to fear from a Supreme court investigation.

The Japanese government has approved plans to allow Emperor Akihito to step down -- the first such abdication for two centuries. The cabinet has backed draft legislation, which will now be sent for parliamentary approval.

The new president of France, Emmanuel Macron is travelling to the West Africa country of Mali where he'll meet French troops who are combating Islamist militants.
