Radcliffe: ‘When you cheat you forgo the privilege to take part in your sport’
World marathon record holder and six-time World Champion Paula Radcliffe has told 5 live she believes “when you cheat you forgo the privilege to take part in your sport.”
Radcliffe was reacting to Maria Sharapova’s return to tennis after serving a ban for doping. The Russian is through to the third round of the Stuttgart Open, after serving 15 months for taking the banned substance meldonuim.
Radcliffe told 5 live’s Anna Foster:
“Cheat’s damage the sport and damage the people trying to do that sport in the right way.”
