Meet the Museum of the Year finalists for 2017

The five museums in contention for the Art Fund's award for innovation and excellence.

The five finalists, announced during a British Museums special on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, are: The Hepworth Wakefield; Sir John Soane's Museum, London; Lapworth Museum of Geology, Birmingham; Tate Modern, London; The National Heritage Centre for Horse Racing, Newmarket.

The award is announced at the British Museum on Wednesday 5 July 2017.
