The Royals striker is over the moon to get his first goals for the club.
Joseph Mendes scored a brace on his first league start for Reading FC.
"I enjoyed this afternoon," Mendes told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "Today I am very happy for the team, for the gaffer, for the fans as well.
"For me as well, because I scored two goals, I am very happy.
"You always want to play, I think I will get my rest tonight, and tomorrow, and be ready for Rotherham."
