Alexei Navalny was arrested among anti-corruption protesters
Russia's main opposition leader, Alexei Navalny, is to appear in court, later today. He was arrested at an anti-corruption protest he organised in the capital, Moscow. Thousands of protesters joined rallies nationwide, calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev over corruption allegations.
Thousands of people have been ordered evacuate and flights have been cancelled, in Queensland. This northeastern state in Australia has been bracing to be in the firing line of Tropical Cyclone Debbie.
