Russia: Opposition Leader Arrested In Anti-corruption Protests

The protesters wanted Prime Minister Medvedev to resign over corruption allegations.

Thousands of Russians have taken part in anti-corruption rallies across the country, in appears to be the country's biggest rallies in years. Police have arrested hundreds of protesters, among them the leader of the Russian opposition Alexey Navalny.

Researchers in the US say they've managed to turn a spinach leaf into working heart tissue. The scientists hope this technique could eventually be used to grow layers of healthy heart muscle to treat patients who have suffered a heart attack.

The United Nations has condemned the killing of six aid workers in South Sudan. This is the highest loss of life in a single incident since the civil war began in the country in 2013.
