Jenas: This is a pivotal moment in Arsenal’s history
Ex-England midfielder Jermaine Jenas says Arsenal’s 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich represents a “pivotal moment” in the club’s history.
The German champions matched the first-leg scoreline from a fortnight ago, winning 5-1 at Emirates Stadium, to complete the biggest aggregate defeat for an English club in the Champions League.
“It feels as if this is a moment where there needs to be a cleansing or a fresh beginning,” Jenas said.
“They should be competing within Europe’s biggest competition, it’s as simple as that. I don’t feel the board have an argument to appease the fans anymore,” he added.
