Has Luis Enrique left Barcelona so Lionel Messi can stay?

Spanish football writer Graham Hunter says the timing of Luis Enrique's Barcelona departure and Lionel Messi's contract talks stalling is no coincidence.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has only 15 months left on his contract at the Nou Camp, whilst Enrique said after Wednesday's 6-1 victory over Sporting Gijon that he will step down as manager at the end of the 2016/17 season.

"The sudden move between Messi's father going home without progressing in the contract negotiations and Luis Enrique coming out and saying 'I am leaving', there is a direct causal connection".
