Jean Bishop: The Bee Lady

94 year old Jean Bishop has raised £112,000 for the charity Age UK over the last 25 years by fundraising on the streets dressed as a bee. She began collecting for the charity shortly after the death of her husband as a way to keep herself occupied. Now Jean's days are filled with her duties as a local celebrity and her continuing fundraising efforts, which not only provide much needed money to those who need it, but also brings joy to the community.
