I was not downplaying the FA Cup – Howe
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has defended his team selection following their 3-0 FA Cup defeat at League One Millwall.
Howe made 11 changes for the third-round tie, in which his Bournemouth side failed to register a shot on target.
"I am not downplaying the FA Cup or the importance of the competition," Howe said.
"I would love to win it as a manager but I have to do what is right for this team – and at the moment, for a whole host of reasons, we felt we could not take too many risks with those that have played in the Premier League."
