The German authorities are questioning a man thought to be the driver of the truck that ploughed into a Christmas market in Berlin.
The Russian and Turkish presidents have said the assassination of Russia's ambassador to Turkey was aimed at derailing peace efforts in Syria.
And the International Monetary Fund has made it clear that Christine Lagarde will remain its head, despite being convicted of negligence in a case relating to her time as French finance minister.
