Wilkinson: 'Disappointed if Farrell didn't break my Test points record'
World Cup winning fly-half Jonny Wilkinson says he'd be "surprised and disappointed" if Owen Farrell did not go on to break his England Test points record.
Farrell, currently employed at inside centre in the national side, has amassed 497 points in 44 appearances.
Wilkinson scored 1,179 points in his 91 England caps, including the drop goal which secured victory in the 2003 World Cup final over Australia.
The four-time Six Nations winner praised the current 10-12 axis of George Ford and Farrell, likening them to the midfield partnership he had with Will Greenwood and Mike Catt.
"They're both very, very open individuals and both very humble. That's what's governing their success as they go forward. They have enthusiasm, passion and serious devotion to a goal," he said.
Wilkinson was speaking to 5 live Rugby's Chris Jones.
