From the ashes of his previous band, SJS, Evesham's James Mattey put together a new band called Prism early in 2013 along with two brothers Adam and Dan.
But since discovering there was another band called Prism in Canada, they've changed it to Artiphunk.
The genre isn't static and delves into funk, rock and indie.
22-year-old James, who has recently completed his music degree at the conservatoire Leeds College of Music, has been working hard with Adam and Dan to develop strong songs that the band performs with a vibrancy and enthusiasm.
"It's arty, it's funky - what more could you want?!" - Andrew Marston.

Live music

The Christmas lights are going up across our towns and cities - and continuing our annual tradition, we play nothing but live music as we head towards the end of the year.
In 2016, we continued to take the show on-the-road to some of the biggest events and most happening places in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
This week, hear some of the performances we recorded at the Phoenix Theatre in Ross-on-Wye, The Victory in Hereford, outside the Guildhall in Worcester, at the Royal Albert Hall, the Worcester Arts Workshop, the Nozstock Festival, T In The Park, BBC Maida Vale, the Wychwood Festival and Worley's The Swan in Stourport.

One Day I'll Fly Away

Hereford has another famous singer making a big impression on our screens.
The John Lewis Advert was released less than a week ago and has already clocked up more than 15 million views online from people who can't get enough of the animals bouncing on a trampoline.
The song is covered by a band called Vaults, whose lead singer, Blythe Pepino, studied at St Mary's High School in Lugwardine before moving to the Hereford Sixth Form College.

Worcester Christmas Lights: Tom Forbes

On Thursday, BBC Hereford & Worcester's Malcolm Boyden and Elliott Webb officially switched on Worcester's Christmas Lights - with the help of Pudsey and the Mayor of Worcester.
Joining them on stage throughout the afternoon were a variety of acts chosen by BBC Introducing, including Evesham loop-pedal maestro Tom Forbes.
We first discovered Tom, aged 15, five years ago at the Upton Snodsbury Music Festival playing the guitar...over his head.
He's since taken the festival scene by storm and has been getting airplay on BBC 6 Music this week.

Children in Need

We hear tracks from a very special concert staged at the Royal Albert Hall to honour legendary broadcaster and the inspirational figurehead of BBC Children in Need, Sir Terry Wogan.
Music that Sir Terry loved or had a connection with is at the heart of this celebration and is performed by artists including Ellie Goulding, from Kington, who we discovered on this very programme.

BBC Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

This month's sessions were recorded at the Worcester Arts Workshop, as part of this year's Worcester Music Festival.
The free event, which saw more than 200 performances across 30 venues in the city, raised £4,139 for Acorns Children's Hospice.
The idea of bringing as many venues together, to host live music, began nine years ago in the hope of making the city known for more than just sauce.
Since then, they've gone on to raise thousands of pounds for local charities and BBC Hereford & Worcester has been involved in the event since day one.

Worcester Christmas Lights: The Fidgets

Another one of the groups we chose to switch on Worcester's Christmas Lights on Thursday were The Fidgets.
The band, who have only just been on this show, began life pretty much in the same spot - outside the Guildhall - but busking instead.
They began performing in March 2013 in and around their hometown of Bromsgrove but quickly landed gigs in Worcester and Birmingham.
In the last couple of years they've perfected their live skills through many hours of busking and performing, playing their 500th gig.
They have been songwriting since they formed, developing their own style from the influences in the covers that they play.

Concert tickets

So you want to see your favourite band; you've got up early and sat at the computer ready to book as soon as they go on sale but you find they're sold out - and now you have to turn to a third party website to buy them.
On Tuesday, the Culture, Media and Sport Select committee heard evidence about the secondary ticketing industry, hearing from band members and representatives from Stubhub and Ticketmaster.
Tonight, we hear from Adele fan Ros Sidaway, who runs Vintage Trax in Redditch and the people of Bromsgrove about how much their prepared to pay above the face value of the ticket.

Bewdley showcase

A major open air production is planned to take place in Bewdley next summer - using music specially written by a local composer.
It's been conceived by the team who put on the hugely successful Passion Plays in the town - which attracted an audience of thousands.
The event, which will be staged on the banks of the River Severn, will have soloists, a mass choir and big screen projections.

BBC Introducing at the Malvern Christmas Lights

Our next recording session takes place on Saturday 26 November and we officially switch on Malvern's Christmas Lights!
We'll be featuring several acts who we've been playing on BBC Hereford & Worcester recently.
None of these artists knew they were being considered for a live session - they were chosen based on the tracks they uploaded to us at bbc.co.uk/herefordandworcester/introducing.
