I was strip-searched by the police when I was 12

Georgia Wood was just 12 years old when she was strip-searched by the police without an appropriate adult being present.

Officers from South Wales Police ignored her mother’s pleas to accompany her which is contrary to police codes of practice.

The force has since apologised and paid £17,000 in damages to Georgia. She had been taken into police custody along with her mother who the police suspected was carrying drugs. Nothing was found and charges were never brought.
