Darren Campbell: Ennis-Hill retirement a ‘sad day’
One of the greatest British athletes of all time, Jessica Ennis-Hill has announced her retirement from athletics. The heptathlete claimed a silver medal in this year’s Rio Olympics and won gold four years ago at the London Games.
In a statement she said she had "amazing memories" but wanted to "leave on a high."
Former GB sprinter and Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell told 5 live Drive that it was a “sad day” and that Ennis-Hill had “achieved exceptional things” and was a “phenomenal athlete.”
