English talent not given enough opportunities – Pleat
Former Tottenham manager David Pleat has criticised the lack of opportunities given to talented youngsters in English football.
Pleat believes English clubs are failing to recognise those young players who are good enough to play for their first team.
Pleat argues that Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham – now on loan at Bristol City - would have had a similar breakthrough to that of Marcus Rashford last season, if he had been given the same chance to shine in his side’s first team.
