Lampedusa reunion: The optician and the migrant
A year ago on PM Emma Jane Kirby had a series of reports on the migrants arriving on the Italian island of Lampedusa off the coast of Sicily.
One report concerned an optician on the island, Carmine Menna. In 2013 he'd been on a boating holiday with his wife and friends and found himself in the middle of a massive migrant shipwreck. His boat was only ten metres long but that day they saved 47 people.
Every year on the anniversary, in October, Carmine Menna and his friends return to the site with some of the survivors, to remember the people they were unable to save: 368 people drowned.
