
Syrian Ceasefire Over? Aid Convoy Attacked
Aid convoy hit near Aleppo; Latest on the New York bombings; Fires at Greek refugee camp
A possible 18 aid trucks set to deliver aid to a rebel-held area near Aleppo have been hit by a supposed airstrike, just hours after the Syrian army declared an end to a week-old ceasefire. The convoy, staffed by the Syrian Red Crescent, was hit while delivering UN aid in the rural area of Urm al-Khubra.
Ahmad Khan Rahami, a suspect wanted in connection with recent bombings in the USA has been arrested following a shootout with police. Mr. Khan and two police officers were injured during the fire fight. The arrest follows two bombings and the discovery of a backpack containing a further five devices in New York and New Jersey, USA.
Thousands of people have been forced to flee the Moria migrant camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, as fires swept through the camp. Fighting between different national groups within the camp is believed to be the cause of the fires. Reports indicate that between three and four thousand people have been left without shelter.
