Over 6,000 Migrants Rescued in Mediterranean

Migrant rescue; Lucy cause of death; Gene Wilder has died

About 6,500 migrants have been rescued off Libya, the Italian coastguard says, in one of the biggest operations of its kind to date. Some 40 co-ordinated rescue missions took place about 12 miles off the Libyan coast.

A team of scientists has conducted a new study of Lucy - the world's most famous skeleton - and concluded she probably died when she fell out of a 40 foot tree.

Actor Gene Wilder, remembered by many for his lead role in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, has died at the age of 83. The comic actor also starred in classic films such as The Producers, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.
