There are reports of collapsed buildings across a wide area in Umbria following the earthquake which struck at around 03:40 local time. A teacher's decision to ban homework for her seven-year-olds has gone viral. The US Vice President Joe Biden is due in Turkey amid tense relations between the two countries.
