Cliff Martinez on his soundtrack for The Neon Demon

As the man behind the innovative soundtracks to Drive (starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn) and Solaris (starring George Clooney and directed by Steven Soderbergh), Cliff Martinez has gained recognition as one of the most forward-looking and dynamic film composers working today.

He tells BBC Arts about his latest collaboration with Refn: a horror film set in a disturbing version of the high-end modelling industry of Los Angeles starring Elle Fanning.
