The Colombian government and FARC rebels have agreed a joint ceasefire to end half a century of fighting.

Democratic Party members of the US House of Representatives are staging a sit-in to demand tighter gun controls.

A court in the Democratic Republic of Congo has sentenced in absentia the opposition leader, Moise Katumbi, to three years in jail over a property dispute. The verdict leaves Mr Katumbi, who's seen as a leading presidential contender, ineligible to stand in the November elections.
