Is it crazy to put red wine in the fridge?

Should Red wine be kept in the fridge? Yes, according to the Oxford Companion to Wine.

Christopher Papis is from the independent wine merchants, The Vintner. He told Martha Kearney that some lighter, fruitier reds actually taste better when they are chilled "because you can taste the fruit more than the alcohol".
