Why does the UK score badly at Eurovision? Superfans answer

So Eurovision has been and gone - and despite the first 12 points in five years (thanks Malta), UK entry Joe and Jake finished 24th in the competition.

It was a respectable score for the pair however - the UK still scored more points than it has done since 2011 when Blue competed.

The UK has had a pretty poor recent track record at the contest: last year’s Electro Velvet had the second lowest UK score of all time - the worst since Jemini’s dreaded “nul points” in 2003.

In host city Stockholm, fans at the Eurovision Village explained why they thought the UK had performed badly in previous years – and gave advice on how to improve.
