The Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff, has branded her deputy a traitor and accused him of plotting to depose her.
A new round of peace talks, aimed at putting an end to fighting in Syria, is taking place in Geneva five years after the conflict began.
The South Sudanese rebel leader, Riek Machar, is back in the country for the first time since signing a peace agreement last year.
