The Brazilian president, Dilma Rousseff, has branded her deputy a traitor and accused him of plotting to depose her.
South Korean parliamentary elections are underway in the first general electoral test since the country's first female president was sworn into office.
The South Sudanese rebel leader, Riek Machar, is back in the country for the first time since signing a peace agreement last year.
