Bread is 'junk food' for ducks

Ecologist Phillipa Baron from the Canal and River Trust says that like other hipsters across the country, kale is actually a duck's preferred food.

She said that although 7 million people in the country feed them bread, it's actually "junk food" for ducks and they need more natural food.

She said the discovery that ducks prefer kale is a "real surprise" but that they also enjoy corn, pea shoots and rocket.
