Suu Kyi Ruled Out as Myanmar President
Myanmar parliament selects two candidates; Fukushima disaster five years on; Space tourists
In Myanmar, the National League for Democracy, which dominates parliament, has put forward the names of two nominees to become vice-presidents of the country. One of them should eventually be chosen as president. Htin Kyaw, a trusted aide of the party leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, is one of the candidates. Ms Suu Kyi herself is barred from the presidency by the military-drafted constitution. A third candidate will be named by the military.
It has been almost five years since an earthquake and tsunami triggered a series of meltdowns at the Fukushima nuclear plant on the north-east coast of Japan. Around 160,000 people were evacuated from the surrounding villages back then - but the high radiation levels remain and some 100,000 people are still unable to go home.
And, who is winning the race for the first commercial space carrier? And who is buying the tickets?
