More Aid for Cut Off Syrians
Syria aid; Nigeria ghost workers; Australia Church enquiry.
The United Nations says it plans to make more aid deliveries to communities under siege in Syria during the current cessation in hostilities, which started on Friday.
Nigeria will save eleven-and-a-half-million dollars every month after discovering that 23,000 workers in its payroll did not exist. The discovery came after an audit which is part of an anti-corruption campaign by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Australia's most senior Catholic, Cardinal George Pell, has started giving evidence, via video-link from Rome, to an Australian enquiry into child sexual abuse. Pell, who was from Ballarat, has been accused of mishandling cases of abusive clergy when he led the Australia Church.
