Football's world governing body, Fifa, will elect a new president on Friday. It will also vote on a package of reforms intended to bring to an end the corruption that contributed to the downfall of the former president, Sepp Blatter.

One month after the brutal killing of an Italian researcher Giulio Regeni in Cairo, the authorities in Egypt say they have made no arrests. Human rights campaigners in Egypt say he was one of many believed to have disappeared at the hands of the security forces.

You might think it's political suicide for a country's leader to criticise his fellow citizens but that is what Kenya's president Uhuru Kenyatta did on Thursday during a speech to Kenyan expatriates in Israel.
