Iraq reports thefts of radioactive material; At least 28 people killed in blast in Turkish capital, Ankara; Scientists say iron-rich meteorites could lie beneath Antarctic snow
Iraq reported the theft of up to ten grams of an iridium isotope, which is used to treat cancer, to the International Atomic Energy Agency. Iraqi officials say the material, which poses a risk of bodily and environmental harm, could also be used as a weapon.
The US government has strongly condemned the car bombing in the Turkish capital, Ankara, that killed at least 28 people and wounded more than 60 others.
Scientists say there could be a layer of iron-rich meteorites buried just underneath the Antarctic ice.
