Shapps: Resigning was 'right thing to do'
Conservative MP Grant Shapps has stood by his decision to resign as a minister following claims he failed to act on allegations of bullying.
Allegations have engulfed the Conservatives following the apparent suicide in September of a youth activist.
In his resignation letter, Mr Shapps told the prime minister the "buck should stop with me" concerning issues while he was party co-chairman.
Speaking to the Daily Politics, Mr Shapps said of his decision to step down: "I thought it was the right thing to do."
He was speaking after a film on the programme showed the downfall of his ministerial career.
