South Korean companies have started withdrawing their personnel and property from the Kaesong industrial park in North Korea a day after Seoul announced it was halting operations there. The South says the move is a reaction to the North carrying out a nuclear test and firing a long-range missile earlier.
Haile Gebreselassie, the man widely seen as the greatest African athlete, has said that Russia should be allowed to compete in athletics at the Rio Olympics. He also said that drug testing regimes in Kenya and Ethiopia needed to be tightened.
And the virgin female white-spotted bamboo shark who is pregnant even though she has not been in contact with any males of her own species in the last two years.
