Is "loneliness" underrated in our society?
Ruth Thomas is a novelist who spent two weeks pretty much in isolation, in a cottage, as part of the process of writing a novel about someone who was on her own, and not coping very well. She found getting used to being cut off from family life very difficult at first - but she had chosen to put herself in the situation.
