The carpenter of Lampedusa and the British Museum

PM reported on the Lampedusan carpenter who was so moved by migrants arriving on his island he carved them crosses from the wreckage of their own capsized boats. Now one of those crosses has washed up in the British Museum. Emma Jane Kirby tells the story
