Labour MP: Drop food to starving Syrians
"The UK needs to be ready to do RAF food drops" in besieged Madaya "if necessary", Labour MP Jo Cox has said.
The former head of policy for Oxfam said that the United Nations (UN) response on the ground had not been robust enough and that the organisation had interpreted its mandate to deliver aid "incredibly weakly".
"The UN has that authority to go in and break these sieges and deliver that much needed aid", and it should be doing so "right now", she told presenter Mark Mardell.
