Facial recognition “watch-list” trial in UK stores
Tests of facial recognition systems are being carried out in UK stores by Facewatch, a company that helps businesses in a local area create watch-lists of images of potential criminals: for example, well known bag thieves or shoplifters.
The idea is that staff will receive alerts when someone on a list enters a store but tests have been controversial, as Chris Vallance reports.
