Sharp differences have emerged between rich and developing countries at the UN climate conference in Paris. Developing countries fear that the draft agreement put forward by France's Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, will allow rich nations to shirk their responsibilities while still leaving vulnerable states facing the effects of climate change.
The United Nations Committee Against Torture has urged China to end the widespread use of the practice in its prisons, close all secret jails and halt a large-scale crackdown on lawyers and activists.
And for the first time in the kingdom's history, women in Saudi Arabia are standing as candidates in municipal elections. We hear from a woman volunteer who is helping organise the elections.
