Japan's whaling fleet has set sail today for the Antarctic with a plan to kill hundreds of whales. Josina Machel, the stepdaughter of Nelson Mandela, says she has been left blind in one eye after a former boyfriend attacked her during her mother's 70th birthday celebrations in October.
The Kenyan authorities have begun an investigation after a security drill at a university in the capital Nairobi was mistaken for a real attack, sparking panic. One employee of Strathmore University was killed after apparently jumping from a third floor window.
