
French Diplomacy Following Paris Attacks
French diplomacy, Pope Francis in Uganda, Climate Change and the Philippines.
An official commemoration ceremony is being held today in Paris to honour the victims of the recent attacks which left 130 dead. In the aftermath of these attacks President Hollande of France has been meeting world leaders, seeking to form a broad coalition to take on so-called Islamic State in Syria. To gauge the success of this Newsday speaks to political analyst Alexandre Kouchner.

Next week Paris will host the UN climate change conference. One of the countries in attendance will be the Philippines which is described as one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change. But the Philippines has decided it needs 23 new coal-fired power stations, even though many scientists say coal is one of the greatest sources of the carbon dioxide blamed for climate change. The BBC's Science Editor David Shukman reports.
